THE FOUNDER
Roberto Redaelli, founder and president of the MBA Holding group.
Born in the province of Lecco in 1966 to a father from Brianza and a mother from Bergamo, the second of three siblings, he began working in a carpentry workshop.
Under the rigid teachings of his father and grandfather, he learnt to be a carpenter, combing study and work from the very beginning.
He attended the ‘Dame Inglesi’ college in the province of Lecco to later graduate as a ‘Tradesman of Interior Design’. He attended economics and finance courses and, at only 18 years old, became an entrepreneur by registering his first VAT number.
In the 2000s, after working in the family business with various tasks, sectors and multiple initiatives, he began to pursue a new idea: To work in the construction sector using timber, respecting the environment and personal safety. A very ambitious, yet very difficult project because it went against the conventional and traditional systems and, at that time, was not regulated by any protocol or legislation. There have been several business ventures on which he has embarked, but the common denominator has always been wood.
His teachings, passion and the continuous commitment to entrepreneurship have led to him becoming the founder and president of the MBA Group, the 100% Italian holding company that controls all the companies in the same sector as the group.
THE STORY
2005 | MBA by Roberto Redaelli
The sole proprietorship Management Business Advising was founded, a specialised consultation programme for green building with timber construction systems.
2006 | The first design
Eclopan was designed and produced with the aim of avoiding use of chipboard materials such as OSB, plasterboard and derivatives, chemical glues, etc. It is a natural slab made predominantly from the mineral Magnesium, a slab that would see use in different areas of the building sector such as cladding, infill in dry construction of buildings in wood and steel, flooring, and even in the furniture industry.
2007 | The first logo
The MBA Green Build brand was born, which would later become MBA in 2021.
2008 | The first building design
The first ‘MBA house’ design came to life with the goal of having the highest percentage of green building and safety in timber construction compared to any other competitor.
2009 | A philosophy that networks
A Group programme was born and with this, the consolidation of partner companies.
2011 | The first milestone
International recognition for the best technology applied to the timber construction system in the project promoted by the Chamber of Commerce of Milan, Regione Lombardia (the Lombardy Region Institution), the Polytechnic University of Milan and Boston University.
2014 | The MBA stratigraphy is born
Roberto Redaelli filed and obtained the first patent for a new and innovative stratigraphy where Roberto Redaelli assigned the right to trade/assigned the commercial rights to MBA and personally holds the intellectual property.
2018 | Formaldehyde-Free Insulation
In collaboration with an Italian partner, the first FORMALDEHYDE-FREE insulation was created, made from glass wool with 100% natural inorganic binder.
2020 | Internationalisation
The experience accumulated in construction and high-performing buildings through the use of our own products allowed us to reach a level of engineering and industrialisation that can be exported to other countries.
MBA SWISS gmbh and MBA ALBANIA shpk were founded.
2021 | MBA ITALIA SRL is founded
MBA Green Build became MBA change/continue/grow, a logo distinguished by three squares of three different sizes, with the aim of identifying the group’s growth, consolidating the Italian market with the newly-founded MBA ITALIA srl.
2021 | MBA Kit-System
MBA designed the new ‘MBA building house Kit-System’, entirely engineered to be assembled directly on the construction site.
2022 | The first MBA natural treatments are created
MBA’s research laboratory, in collaboration with a new specialised partner, created the line of human- and environmentally-friendly, water-based, natural, protective eco-treatments entirely designed by MBA. They were then followed by a range of natural products such as: sealants, skim coats, plaster, etc. to enrich the range of ecological products.
2022 | The group officially consolidated and became a Holding company
The Working Group officially became Gruppo MBA srl, the 100% Italian Holding company that would control all the current and future companies, in the construction, industrial, tax and financial sectors.
2023 | The Group’s General Contractor is founded.
MBA Edilizia srl, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Gruppo MBA srl, founded with the goal of working across the whole of Italy as a General Contractor for civil and industrial construction by offering a turnkey service in timber construction systems. MBA Edilizia follows the Group’s values, careful to offer materials and construction systems that support the theme of sustainability and personal safety.
2023 | New purchase in the fiscal and financial sector
Gruppo MBA srl, in collaboration with its professionals, founded M&B Management And Business Administration stp srl, holding a 15% controlling interest. Finance and fiscal activities have become part of the group’s assets.
2024 | Gruppo MBA srl acquires 100% of Casati Arredamenti.
Gruppo MBA srl acquires 100% of Casati Arredamenti, a company with over sixty years of experience in the bespoke furniture industry in historic Brianza, the capital of furniture craftsmanship. The goal is to introduce the company’s green philosophy into the public and private furnishing sector, with environmentally- and human-friendly materials.
2025 | Entry of the Gruppo MBA into the transportation sector.
The Gruppo MBA expands its activities by entering the transportation sector. The goal is to stand out through a green philosophy, adopting low-emission electric vehicles and prioritizing safety and proper load management on construction sites through the customization of loading systems.
2025 | The MBA construction system wins the B-CAD Award.
Smart Enerjie, the natural, high-performance, and engineered construction system developed by MBA, has been honored with the prestigious B-CAD Award during the 5th edition of B-CAD Expo.
